Vacationing on the European Continent has changed a great deal over the years and if you should decide to camp in France you will not be disappointed. Camp sites have become more like resorts and with the added convenience of mobile campers and fully equipped family tents, camping will never be the same again.

Camp sites can be found in very attractive country and sea-side settings, and camping is great for exploring any number of these. You just pack up your tent or camper and move on to the next spot. This enables the holiday maker to see as many or as few different places as they like.

Well maintained and organized campsites in France provide campers with tons of facilities to make their stay a pleasant one, and they are very good value for money too. If you are careful how you choose your site when you camp in France, you should be able to find a good one that will allow you access to the coastline and the countryside, so that you can enjoy the best of both worlds.

There are so many different areas in France where you will find beautiful camp sites. If you think the Cot ‘dAzure is only for the rich and famous think a gain. Take Gran and Grandad with you, they will love it too. Oh yeah, don’t forget the kids.  They’ll be very pleasantly surprised.

Take for instance the coast of Gascony and Royan, these areas are famous for long sandy beaches, high dunes, and even pine forests, a strange eclectic mixture of landscapes. The Valley of the River Charente is popular with campers and it is a Congnac making area. Oléron is an island accessible by bridge and it has great beaches as well as being home to a fantastic ancient Citadel.

Food and France work hand in hand, and restaurants proffer fine wines and even finer food to their guest. What money you save by camping, should be used to sample some of the local seafood and other fare. For really great wine making it is highly recommended that you pay a visit to the Médoc peninsula in Royan.

Just south of Bordeaux, you also find one of the most important oyster farming regions in the whole of France. Yes oysters are farmed, but perhaps in not the conventional sense! If you visit this area, leave the kids to organized camp site activities and take time out to sample the wines, this is an outing you will never forget.

Looking Great And Being Prepared On The Ski Hills

If you’re going skiing, you’re entering a different world. If you are already a skier, you probably already know that. But, if you are new to the sport, you’ll see how trendy and fashionable skiers really can be. This comes in the form of not only the equipment but also in what they are wearing on the slopes.

Not only do many of them sport the latest ski wear, they also keep buying newer equipment. So, they look fantastic all-around. If you haven’t noticed, skiing is one of the most expensive sports to participate in. There are many reasons for that which are quite obvious. But aside from that, skiers get to benefit from the great workout, all the while being in a wonderful all natural location. In addition to, it’s made incredible people either on the slopes or off.

While it is always great to keep yourself looking the best that you can win on the slopes, you have to pay attention to your safety. That means that you should invest in a ski helmet and wear it at all times when on the slopes. You should also ensure that your skis are properly maintained and fit for the particular conditions of the slopes.

Perhaps it’s best to invest in one black helmet rather than buying several colors. Obviously, black is the choice color because it is more easily matched with various outfits. So, it ends up being a lot more cost effective.

Remember to wear a digital sport watch when out on the hills. This comes in very handy when you want to meet with friends to enjoy a cup of coffee, hot chocolate, or do some apres skiing. This way, you can keep track of time and meet up whenever and wherever you decide to.

In many cases as with many skiers, apres-ski is a very big part of skiing. After a great day of great exercise and fresh air, there is nothing like socializing with other people who have the same interests as you do.

Most of us take care in the way we look, regardless of what we are doing or going. And that’s all good. However, safety should take center stage. Try to avoid forgetting anything that you’ll need on your ski trip, otherwise it may cost you a pretty penny picking them up at those ski resorts. Above all, remember your safety gear.

A New Adventure Holiday In Norway For Men And Women

Skiing must have been invented in Norway or thereabouts as it originally was a form of transportation most suitable for the snowy slopes. Skis themselves have been dated as far back as two thousand years prior to the birth of Christ. Stone Age carvings on rocks discovered in the Scandinavian Peninsular give evidence of this.

A small group of eight people will journey by car to a variety of places and stay in pastoral accommodations all over western areas of Norway. The environment could not be any clearer as another traveller puts on her black helmet and looks to the glacier above. Quite a challenge to take up but she wont be alone.

Winter clothing is not always necessary, but be forewarned, out in the snow fields the ice is cold but the sun’s heat is still a major influence on what should be worn. It is advisable for people to have sun protection in the form of goggles or sunglasses, sunscreen and a hat is optional. A warm leather jacket is advisable in case of spills on the icy snow.

Following in the footsteps of female cross country skiers, a classic skating style is used to make a way across the snow. Putting on a giro ski helmet, ski pants and boots, the group glides their way from point A to B. The sport has been part of the winter Olympics since nineteen twenty four.

As tourists to the country a few days spent in famous Norwegian cities will give authentic realism to the trip. The Greig Hall in Bergen has concerts all year round and is host to a large amount of local talent. It holds contests such as the Norwegian Brass Band Championships every year.

A real adventure consists of more than just a chance to ski the slopes and discover the natural beauty of the glaciers and fjords. Kayaking down a river with rapids and rocks looming is an activity not for the feint hearted. Women take note – if you are ever in a big rubber raft built for eight people, make sure to sit at the back of the raft. This angle sees a lot more heights than the persons sitting at the front, who will end up saturated and have a scarier time of it all.

Adventuresome people may opt for some biking in the mountains as another way to view the beautiful scenery and taste the clean environment. Coming back from such a trip would find the delonghi space heater a welcoming sight. After some needed rest a hint of the nightlife in the city may soothe away the physical strains from the daily treks and adventures. Loosening up and being able to share with people about the holiday makes it a wonderful journey.

Holiday Paradise in Daymer bay, North Cornwall

Inspired by the blue skies and bright moods of the pending summer my family made tracks to Trebetherick tucked inside the Camel Estuary on the North Cornish coast.  The small lane that leads the way down to Daymer bay is dense with greenery and hedgerows but conceals quite a number of sturdy houses built over the last century offering easy access to the beach and walks across the cliff and the famous St Enodoc golf course.

Daymer bay sits comfortably just inside the Camel estuary between Rock (more ostentatious in character) and Polzeath, a large sandy bay with regular surf and big tides. The beach at Daymer is mostly calm because of the protection offered by the Estaury.  The bay is completely nested by greenery that leads from the car park on the low cliff round the sand dunes that buffer the golf course to Brae Hill, a distinctive grassy mound, breast shaped with panoramic views from the top looking directly over Padstow and Rock, towards Wadebridge and outwards towards Pentire Point.

One of the most relaxing activities when staying in this sandy microclimate is simply to patrol the cliff towards Polzeath, soaking up the landscape and letting the ocean supply the meditative soundtrack.Take one of the little pathways down to one of the concealed mini-coves that appear like a natures atlantis at lowtide.Alternatively, take one of the numerous pathways passed Brae Hill and enjoy the sandscape walk to Rock where a drink at the Mariner’s is always a welcome refreshment.

Taking one of the numerous narrow tracks that cut into the golf course one happens across St Enodoc Church, an ancient little place of worship trying to climb out of the oceanic landscape.Have an amble about the tombstones where the first one that you see is that of national treasure and Poet Laureat, John Betjeman.Along upper boundary of the tiny graveyard is a seat that offers peaceful views over Daymer bay and up the Camel estaury..

It’s great fun to go fishing from Rock.Look out for the signs that fishing boats have out to advertise little fishing trips. The mackerel swim in great numbers just outside the estaury.Take your catch home and ready them for the grill. Mix up some garlic, lemon and fresh parsley and wash it all down with a glass of Camel valley Bacchus, 2009!

We stayed at Bars House, Daymer Lane, which has a sturdy old-school feel with excellent facilities for about 8 people.  It’s three minutes from the beach with a great garden for alfresco dining.

If you dont fancy cooking, head to Padstow where all manner of fine food can be found whether at Rick Stein’s restaurant and Bistro or in one of the other variously scattered restaurants. The ferry runs late into the evening but just ask the driver for exact times.

Also worth looking into for a day trip is the award winning Camel Valley vineyard where tours and tastings are offered.   It’s worth contacting them to book.

What Should You Pack For Your Outdoor Vacation?

If you are planning an outdoor holiday for the first time, figuring out what to pack can be difficult. You don’t want to take too much with you and, at the same time, you don’t want to take too little. If you don’t pack the right things, your vacation can quickly go wrong and you may never go on another outdoor vacation again. If you’re struggling to pack the right things, let this guide help you.

Buying the perfect tent is very important. Purchasing the wrong one can leave you wet and cold or overheated. When buying a tent, be sure that it will stand up to the weather conditions in the area you will be vacationing at. Many tents already tell you what season they are for. If you are unsure, ask a salesperson or contact the manufacturer. Also, remember to take a mallet on your trip, so you can secure the tent to the ground.

When you’re out shopping, look for a sleeping bag that will keep you warm enough or cool enough for the weather conditions you are going to be vacationing in. Usually, the bag will say on the label whether it’s for warm or cool weather. Also, you can buy sleeping bags that attach to one another or fit more than one person, which is great if you’re traveling with someone you love.

Pack appropriate footwear, such as a pair of durable brown boots. These will protect your feet from anything you come up against and keep you dry in case it rains. Also, the brown won’t show the dirt as much as other colors.

A digital sport watch is the perfect accessory to take on an outdoor trip. Knowing what the time is can help you get back to your camp before the night hits. Be sure to purchase a watch that is also water resistant if you are planning on going in water or being out during the rain. Additionally, make sure that it can light up so you can see in the dark.

If you plan on doing many physically strenuous activities, like hiking or climbing, it might be a good idea to take a massager with you. This will help relax your muscles at night, so you can get a good sleep and prepare for the next day. Buy one that is battery powered so it can actually work outside and don’t forget to pack extra batteries to keep it powered up.

Before you go on your trip, make a full list of what you need and check off what you get as you buy it. Don’t forget to be prepared for anything and everything.
